Members of SSWAT,
are happening within our organization!
I am pleased to announce that SSWAT has recently affiliated with the
School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA). We are now the 22nd state
affiliate of the national organization. The affiliation offers many perks to
state affiliates. First and
foremost, SSWAT members will have the opportunity to join SSWAA at a discounted
rate. With this discount comes
helpful support, FREE liability insurance, access to numerous online journals,
discounts to the national conference, and so much more! You can find additional information on
these perks at www.sswaa.org.
you may realize, with change comes some trial and error. One major difference moving forward is
that SSWAA will be in charge of collecting all dues for the Texas chapter and
national organization. We will no
longer be using PayPal to collect re-occurring membership payments. SSWAA will be taking on this
responsibility. We wanted to
notify members so that you have the opportunity to explore the new changes to
membership benefits and to membership dues. Please view the SSWAT Membership section of this website for more information, or send us an email at
School Social Work of Texas Executive Committee
The School Social Work Association of Texas is a professional organization that advocates for School Social Work services. We are a newly formed organization and look forward to having a solid base of members that can help us advocate for the children of Texas and for our profession.
As a School Social Worker or friend of School Social Work, your input and experience is integral to the success of our organization and ultimately to the success of our profession. Committee service from membership greatly increases the ability of our organization to do the work necessary to improve Social Work services in schools.
If you are not yet a member, please consider joining and becoming part of the only organization in Texas that advocates for the profession of School Social Work. Exciting changes in education are happening across the state and across the nation. Become part of and help influence change by getting involved in SSWAT!
